Senior Lunch of Senior Services, Inc., operates four nutrition sites each weekday throughout Forsyth County.  The meals provide nourishment for the body, and the socialization provides nourishment for the soul.

Services Provided

Senior Lunch provides nutritious meals and exciting activities and programs for seniors in a group setting.  At each nutrition site, older adults enjoy arts and crafts, playing bingo, exercising, singing and having fun.

Seniors may take part in educational programs covering a variety of health and nutrition topics.  Additional information and education are provided on senior-related issues, along with a variety of helpful and enriching activities.

 

A site manager and community volunteers lead the activities and serve the lunch. A local caterer prepares all meals.  The Senior Lunch sites are open for participants Monday through Friday from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  Activities and programs begin at 11:00 A.M.  Lunch is served at 12:00 noon. 

 

Eligibility

The Senior Lunch program serves Forsyth County residents over the age of 60 who are interested in staying healthy, learning new information and skills, making new friends and having fun.  

 

 

Transportation

Trans-Aid pickup may be available in your area.  Please call the Winston-Salem Transit Authority at 727-2257 for more information on this service and possible waiting lists in your area.

 

 

Cost of Service

Participants are given an opportunity to share in the cost of the service through voluntary consumer contributions.  A $1.00 donation per lunch is suggested, but no one is denied service owing to the inability to contribute.
