Do-It-Yourself Fundraiser to Help Meet a Critical Need

Edible Evenings is a fundraiser that four years ago grew out of the need to raise more funds for Meals-on-Wheels, the Senior Services program whose volunteers, hundreds of times each day, deliver hot food and warm smiles to the homes of the elderly throughout Forsyth County who cannot prepare their own meals because of poverty, disabilities or other factors.  For many, this meal is their only daily link with the outside worldthe connection that enables them to continue to live at home.

What Kind of an Event Should It Be?

All you have to do to hold an Edible Evenings fundraiser is have a party!  Just invite your friends, letting them know that you’re providing the food and fun and that you’d like them to bring just themselves and a donation to Meals-on-Wheels.  Anyone or any group can be a host or hostess of an Edible Evenings event.  The occasion can be a dinner at your home with friends, a supper at church, a lunch event at the office or a picnic with fellow civic club members.  It's up to you!
